A brand-new competition will be taking place in the summer of 2025, with some of the world’s biggest clubs eyeing glory in the USA.
FIFA have revamped their usually annual tournament, expanding it to 32 teams and making it an occasion scheduled for every four years instead.

It means teams from continents all over the world will now compete in a longer format and look to become the first-ever champions of the new event.
Lionel Messi will be involved with Inter Miami while Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane will feature too, along with Manchester City, Chelsea, PSG and others.
Club World Cup: Dates
The tournament will begin on Sunday, June 15, 2025.
It will run for just under a month until the final takes place on Sunday, July 13.
The draw for the group stage is set for December 2024, with FIFA yet to confirm the seedings and fixture schedule for the competition.
Club World Cup: Format
The Club World Cup will begin with a group stage composed of eight groups with four teams.
It will be played in a single-game round-robin format.
The top two teams from each group will reach the Round of 16.
And from then on, it is knockout football with the winner of each game progressing.
There will be a semi-final and final but no third-place play-off is scheduled.

Club World Cup: Stadiums
The tournament will be played across 12 stadiums in the USA.
63 matches are set to be hosted at the venues with the final being played at the MetLife Stadium in New York, New Jersey.

Club World Cup: Teams
There will be a total of 32 teams playing in the brand-new tournament.
They are split between all of the international football confederations.
Four teams from Africa, four teams from Asia and four teams from North and Central America make up 12 of the sides involved.
Another six will come from South America, one team come from Oceania and one team will also come from the host country which is the USA.
The biggest chunk of teams will come from Europe, with 12 taking part.
